Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio Commends Officers Taking Knee During Protests

Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio said he was impressed by police officers taking a knee with protesters Monday night.

Protests remained peaceful and no arrests were made after the fifth consecutive day of demonstrations.

DiCiccio says he hopes the peace shown in this moment will spread to others.

“Those impromptu moments are sometimes the most genuine and the most beautiful moments in our lives. And what we saw when they did that, everything, the anger, the anxiety, the in your face, everything stopped.” DiCiccio said.

He added officers showed a “human side” that will hopefully bring an end to the violence.
