The approach of summer and its sizzling temperatures, the wildfires burning here in the Southwest, and the decades-long drought — all of it brings climate change to the forefront. And while there are efforts underway to deal with it and its effects, plans vary depending upon just how dire people think current circumstances are.

In his new book, "Our Shared Storm: A Novel of Five Climate Futures," Andrew Dana Hudson begins with public policy on climate change and offers a variety of scenarios.

The Show spoke with him to learn about his ideas. The conversation began with Hudson explaining the five possible Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) that provide the jumping-off point for his five approaches in the book.

Hudson will also discuss the book April 29 at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix.
