The response to the opioid epidemic has included efforts to increase treatment opportunities for people struggling with addiction, along with trying to make sure law enforcement agencies have the tools they need — including having naloxone available to administer in case of an overdose.

There have also been additional actions taken by prosecutors to shut down so-called "pill mills" and pursue charges against doctors who are suspected of overprescribing opioids.

As part of its recently-completed term, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a case related to a couple of physicians — including one in Arizona — who fit that description.

To learn more about the case and the high court's ruling, The Show spoke with Yale professor Abbe Gluck.
