Tempe recently appointed Ken McCoy as the city’s new police chief. The position became available after Governor Katie Hobbs nominated the former chief, Jeff Glover, to lead the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

McCoy spent 27 years with the Anchorage, Alaska Police Department. After retiring last year, he took a job with a nonprofit healthcare organization in Alaska.

The Show spoke with McCoy and began the conversation with what he sees as some of the similarities and differences between his old job with the Anchorage PD and his new one in Tempe.
