Arizona DPS Increases Number Of Freeway Incidents To 10
It has happened again. For the 10th time in the past 2 weeks, a possible shooting has occurred along Interstate 10 in Phoenix.
The latest incident occurred Wednesday morning near the 35th Avenue exit. Law enforcement officials are urging the public to be vigilant.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is trying to pass along the message of "if you see something, say something" in the wake of declaring the previous possible shootings an “act of domestic terrorism”.
As his agency works to connect the incidents, DPS spokesman Raul Garcia said they don’t want anybody using the interstate to panic — just pay attention.
“We just ask the public to avoid distractions, to pay attention to their surroundings, use those mirrors," Garcia said. "We don’t want you to be in fear. We just want you to be attentive. Not just with this incident, but at all times.”
Officials confirmed they increased the number of freeway incidents to 10 on Wednesday. They are looking for a link between the incidents, which have taken place since Aug. 26. No one has yet been seriously hurt.
A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to those responsible.
