The Tucson police department is coming under fire for its actions to quell unruly behavior by University of Arizona basketball fans on Saturday night after the Wildcats lost to Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament. The biggest issue is video of a young woman being blindsided and knocked to the ground by an officer in riot gear.

“Yes I did see that and obviously that’s very concerning,” said Roberto Villaseñor, the Tucson Chief of Police. “We’ve received three internal affairs complaints out of the entire evening, that being one of them. We’ve initiated an investigation into that incident.”

Villaseñor says the officer involved has been identified and is being questioned by internal affairs, and could face disciplinary action.
