Scottsdale-based Axon, manufacturer of law enforcement equipment and technologies, answered investor questions Thursday during a quarterly results call. Sales growth for the company is mostly international.

Revenue for the 3rd quarter was record setting, up 26 percent, due in part to growth from international sales.

Rick Smith is CEO and founder. He said officers training in the U.K. require 15 to 20 taser cartridges per officer per year, versus the 3-5 per year U.S. law enforcement teams use.

“In the United Kingdom, significantly more cartridges (are) consumed in training than our typical U.S. customer. Taser 60 has also been helpful in helping them to drive growth in bundled cartridges into service plans,” Smith said.

Taser 60 is an installment payment plan that defers the cost of larger purchases.

Upgraded tasers were approved in the U.K. during the first quarter of 2017.
