The University of Arizona has created a coronavirus coordination team to help respond to the pandemic. One project is the production of hand sanitizer for the community.

UA President Dr. Robert Robbins said researchers will produce sanitizers not just for healthcare workers in southern Arizona Hospitals but also for tribal groups.

"We’re making it as fast as we can, but like everything, supplies are limited. Our labs are producing hand sanitizers and I believe are shipping 200 bottles to the Navajo Nation on Monday," Robbins said.

Along with the hand sanitizer, the group will be working on the creation of testing kits as well as doing immunology research.
