Coronavirus Hasn't Slowed Fast-Growing Buckeye

Buckeye has been the second fastest growing major city in the country since 2010, according to recently released data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The numbers show the West Valley city saw a more than 56% population increase over that time. The only city with a population of more than 50,000 that saw a bigger percentage increase was Frisco, Texas, north of Dallas.
Buckeye officials say the city won’t be fully built out for more than 100 years — at that point, they estimate around 1.5 million people will live there. For reference, Phoenix currently has an estimated 1.6 million residents.
The same census numbers show Phoenix added more residents than any other city last year, compared to 2018.
So why are people moving to Buckeye, and how is the current pandemic affecting that growth?
