Summer is settling in in the Valley, and the mountains are calling. And, if you’re wondering how you can enjoy Arizona’s natural beauty while still keeping your distance from others, this next chat is for you.

Robert Stieve is the editor-in-chief of Arizona Highways Magazine. In this month’s edition, he offers a collection of easy, breezy summer hikes that will get you outdoors without taking a toll.

They take you through aspen groves near Flagstaff, to a miraculously quiet lookout at the Grand Canyon and even to a tall ponderosa pine at Woods Canyon Lake — where you might find great blue heron chicks this time of year.
