After closing since a July 29 Union Pacific train derailment, Tempe Beach Park is now reopened.

Starting Saturday, the park, marina and boat concessions at Tempe Town Lake are open to the public. Kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, rowing and all other lake activities have resumed.

Licensed private boats can also use the lake, but must access it from the marina.

Certain areas of the park path, Boat Beach and Lakeview Drive and the parking lot off Ash Avenue remain closed until further notice due to the ongoing cleanup effort.

The boat storage area on the northwest side of the lake will reopen to the public; however, those boats will not be able to launch from Boat Beach.
