Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego Speaks Out About USPS Changes

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy will testify Monday before a House oversight committee about controversial changes in the U.S. Postal Service. Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego is already speaking out.
Gallego is a Marine Corps veteran. He said voting by mail is especially important for members of the military.
“Any delay in the ballots is disenfranchisement, and let’s be clear, one of the first groups that will get disenfranchised, unfortunately, are military veterans,” Gallego said.
In a video call with reporters, Gallego spoke alongside two Arizona veterans who also rely on the USPS to deliver medication.
“Eighty percent of VA prescriptions are delivered to veterans in the mail, and usually within three to five days," Gallego said.
DeJoy has promised to suspend cost-cutting measures at the USPS until after the November election. Gallego said he still has concerns about DeJoy’s changes at the postal service.
