A protest was held Sunday night at Phoenix City Hall after a Black man was shot in the back by police in Wisconsin.

Four people were arrested by Phoenix police.

A video posted to social media shows police shooting Jacob Blake in the back as he leaned into his vehicle with three of his kids inside. Protests erupted in Wisconsin and, in solidarity, a demonstration was held outside Phoenix City Hall, where four people were arrested. Three were arrested for crimes reportedly committed at a previous demonstration.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix police says the demonstration itself was lawful.

“At no time did the officers declare this an unlawful assembly. There was no property damage, the people were allowed to protest, exercise their First Amendment rights and leave," Thompson said.

The fourth arrest was of a woman who police say threw a water bottle at a police vehicle and swung an umbrella at an officer, cutting the officer’s hand.

The four people were charged with various crimes including aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest.
