Some Arizona Republicans Keep Pushing Election Fraud Claims

President Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the results of the election have run into problems in court, where he’s faced legal losses in key states.

And at the local level, election results that clearly show victories for President-elect Joe Biden are being certified, like in Maricopa County.

Tempe political consultant Mike O’Neil said there remain Republicans, in Arizona and elsewhere, that continue pushing the idea that the election was stolen or fraudulent, despite all evidence to the contrary.

“There’s even less of a claim in Arizona than in some of those other states, and those other states are at virtual zero,” O'Neil said.

O’Neil said many Republican leaders want to appease the far right to avoid an insurrection among Trump’s die-hard supporters.
