Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs is once again challenging Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House, leading a small but vocal minority of Republicans in Congress.

Biggs has said McCarthy is “created by, elevated by, and maintained by the establishment.”

This comes after Biggs lost a last-minute bid to challenge McCarthy for the nomination last month. But now the vote has to go to the full House — and Biggs’ entry could throw a wrench into McCarthy’s plans.

Biggs has said he expects a more “consensus” candidate to emerge as an alternative to McCarthy before the speakership vote. But he remains in the running for now.

To learn more about Biggs and his outsized role in the new Congress, The Show spoke with the Hill’s Emily Brooks, who has been covering the story.
