Jen Pokorski

The new Maricopa County manager will earn a six-figure yearly salary but less than what her predecessor was making.

Jen Pokorski’s contract was approved this week by the Board of Supervisors.

As county manager, Pokorski’s contract says she will earn $290,000 a year plus benefits.

The figure is about $20,000 less than what her predecessor was making at the end of a roughly seven-year tenure in charge.

Pokorski was appointed as the top unelected Maricopa County official in late March after a national search. She has been a county employee for nearly two decades.

Pokorski most recently managed a handful of agencies, such as air quality, flood control and transportation.

Now she’s responsible for dozens of departments.
