A new hotel near Arizona State University opened on Friday.
Known as the Omni Tempe Hotel, the project is a $125 million investment between Arizona State University and the city of Tempe.
The hotel was at the center of controversy in 2019 when former Attorney General Mark Brnovich’s office issued a statement saying that the Arizona Board of Regents and ASU did not have the statutory authority to grant tax exemptions for the Omni.
