The National Park Service is asking the public for input on proposed improvements to its water system at Grand Canyon National Park. The upgrades would address water supply needs at the North Rim and at canyon sites.

Among the proposed improvements are fixing the waterline, which is susceptible to damage from the weather.

“We get a lot of breaks, especially in the springtime after the weather thaws. and we’re also looking at potentially replacing the waterline and constructing a new water treatment plant on the North Rim as well as additional water tanks," said Lily Daniels, the park’s spokesperson.

Members of the public can comment on the project through the National Park Service planning website until July 5.
