City of Phoenix
Phoenix commissioned local artist Kayla Newnam to create a 190 feet mural on Adams Street, near the entrance of the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown.

The Phoenix City Council has approved a public art plan totaling nearly $20 million. It covers 42 projects over the next five years. The plan includes adding 12 new and refurbishing and repairing 30 existing projects.

City ordinance requires one percent of capital improvement program funds be used for public art to enhance the design and experience of public buildings, spaces and infrastructure.

Since 1986, the Office of Public Art and Culture says more than 200 major projects have been completed, including art at community centers, airport terminals, parks and recycling centers.
