This year’s record-breaking heat has been well-documented, and, the triple-digit temperatures aren’t going anywhere for a while.

So, while some of us may be looking into potential vacation spots in Antarctica, or job transfers to Anchorage, there are places much closer to home where it's still cold. For the rest of the week, The Show will be visiting these cool places, where you might even need a sweatshirt. 

Alcor Life Extension Foundation is a nonprofit that does work in cryopreservation, which is the process of freezing biological material so that it can be preserved for an extended period of time — and, in theory, reanimated when science makes that possible.

You may have heard of Alcor before. They’re the ones reportedly keeping the late professional baseball player Ted Williams’ head on ice. The Show’s Nate Boyle visited Alcor’s Scottsdale facility recently to speak with co-CEO and president of Alcor, James Arrowood, who explained how they keep things so cold — and why.
