Arizona Republican lawmakers were quick to bash President Joe Biden's designation of a national monument at the Grand Canyon as a “dictator-style land grab” — so much so that they held an emergency legislative hearing in Kingman the night before Joe Biden made the designation official.

State Senate Majority Leader Sonny Borrelli noted that past executive orders have easily been undone.

"It's just a piece of paper," said Borrelli. "It’s just an EO that they can change on whim. This is not bound by law, technically."

Rep. Austin Smith used Biden’s designation as a rallying cry for former President Donald Trump.

"I cannot wait until Jan. 20, 2025, when Donald Trump rips up this executive order with Paul Gosar standing there, and Arizona can finally start taking its own ground back," said Smith.

Trump is currently the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.
