Maricopa County gas is now $4.98 per gallon on average

Gas prices continue to climb in Arizona, with the statewide average jumping 14 cents this week, to $4.65 per gallon. That’s 78 cents above the national average.
AAA Arizona spokesman Julian Paredes says the high prices are tied to the out-of-state refineries that supply our gas, in Texas and California.
"Much of the country has started switching to the cheaper, winter blend of gasoline. But not California. California won’t be making the switch until November 1. That’s impacting Arizona, because we already source a lot of gas from them," Paredes said.
Maricopa County has the highest average in the state, at $4.98 per gallon. The price is nearly a dollar less in Greenlee County, the cheapest in the state.
