State transportation officials have scheduled a public hearing for 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Heard Elementary School in Phoenix about proposed improvements to the often congested intersection of Grand Avenue, 35th Avenue and Indian School Road.

An engineering and environmental study says the preferred option is to build an elevated intersection above Grand Avenue with new bridges over parallel railroad tracks.

Public comments will be taken through Nov. 27 at adotgrand35study.com/.
