The annual 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge is coming up. The Parks and Recreation program challenges Maricopa County residents to explore the over 500 miles of the regional park system’s trails, and there’s even a grand prize up for grabs.

Originally developed for hikers, the program is now open to runners, bikers and horseback riders.

Visitors can also complete the 100-mile goal by visiting different county parks or the Sun Circle trail.

Miles have to be logged through an app that will activate when the challenge starts on Nov. 1.

Every participant who logs 100 miles by Feb. 8, 2024, will get a free t-shirt. A grand prize drawing will also be held for an annual pass for regional parks and a $25 retail voucher for the Nature Center.
