The Phoenix area could see some decent rainfall later this week. It would follow more than 60 days of dry weather.

Sean Benedict is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix. He said a lot could change before Thursday, but he’s expecting a low pressure system to move through the Valley.

“And as it does, we’ll actually see a pretty good fetch of moisture come up into the region," he said. "Now there’s a lot of detail that is still uncertain at this time as far as like where the placement of the best rainfall may be. It still may be a case where a lot of the best rainfall is going to be to the North.”

The rain will bring cooler temperatures with it as well. The record for the most days without any rain in Phoenix is 160 days.
