Gabriel Pietrorazio, KJZZ's tribal natural resources reporter, moderated a panel discussion on "Food, Water and the Future of Tribal Lands" on Wednesday, Nov. 29 in Tempe.

Joining the panel was Michael Kotutwa Johnson, a Hopi farmer and expert on dry farming; Rafael Tapia, director of tribal community connections at the nonprofit Local First Arizona; and Bleu Adams, director of IndigeHub, which focuses on advancing food access on tribal lands.

The discussion was an engaging and informative conversation that provides a better understanding of how Arizona tribes are managing food, water and sustainability issues in the face of climate change. Specifically, what are the challenges unique to tribes?
