Amid an ongoing investigation of the fake electors who tried to change the 2020 presidential election results in Arizona, Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes is expected to meet with a key attorney for former President Donald Trump on Monday.

According to the Washington Post, attorney Kenneth Chesebro is scheduled to meet with Mayes’ investigation team.

Chesebro appeared before the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack. The committee’s final report dubbed Chesebro the head architect of the fake elector’s plot to keep Trump in power. He pleaded guilty in a fake elector case in Georgia for participating in the conspiracy to get  Trump unlawfully elected. His plea deal requires him to testify in that case. And Chesebro previously met with prosecutors in Nevada and was listed as a witness in indictments of six fake electors there earlier this week.

Fake electors have also been indicted in Michigan. In Wisconsin, fake electors settled a civil lawsuit, admitting they tried to overturn Biden’s victory.

Arizona is one of seven states where Trump electors met and claimed victory for Trump despite President Joe Biden’s victories in those states.

Mayes’ spokesperson Richie Taylor declined to comment on the fake electors investigation.

Two of the 11 Arizona fake electors are state senators; Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek), and Anthony Kern (R-Glendale). former GOP state party chair Kelli Ward and her husband Michael Ward were also on the list.

They filmed themselves meeting and signing documents asserting that they could serve as legitimate electors after former Republican Gov. Doug Ducey had already certified Biden’s win.
