As the war in Gaza continues, the World Food Programme is facing ongoing roadblocks slowing the delivery of much needed supplies to address the humanitarian crisis in that region.

On Sunday, Cindy McCain, who serves as the agency’s executive director, spoke about the problem on CBS's “Face the Nation.”

“We need access. We need full unfettered access, and right now, we don’t have that. We can occasionally get a few trucks in. We can occasionally get up all the way to the north, but it’s not consistent and not up to scale either," she said.

According to a separate release from the World Food Programme, the agency only managed to get nine convoys into northern Gaza since the start of the year. McCain indicated politics is preventing the organization from distributing aid in an efficient manner.
