Suns and Mercury employees move to new building in Phoenix's warehouse district

Player 15 Group, an investment group that owns the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and the Suns’ G-League team, has opened a new 76,000-square-foot administrative campus.

The facility, which took six months to construct, is situated in Phoenix’s warehouse district, at East Lincoln and 5th streets. The site formerly housed a Coors Brewing distribution warehouse. The campus is the first phase of a larger, $100 million-plus investment.

The second phase of the project will be a 47,000-square-foot practice facility for the WNBA’s Mercury, which will be open 24/7 for players and staff, and will include a wide range of amenities. The Mercury facility is scheduled to open before Phoenix hosts the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game in July.

A media tour of the new campus on Thursday was followed by a press conference with majority owner Mat Ishbia, Player 15 CEO Josh Bartelstein, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and District 8 Councilwoman Kesha Hodge Washington​​​​​.

“We are so excited to have the Suns and Mercury growing in the city of Phoenix,” Gallego said. “(Ownership has) chosen a very special area. The Warehouse District was really the economic backbone of the city when we were an agricultural city and now it is the future of our city.”

The campus includes two floors of office space for Player 15 employees, who previously worked in offices located at the Suns’ Footprint Center, just up the street from the new campus.

Ishbia spoke on the now-empty space in the Footprint Center,

“We just vacated 50,000 square feet in the arena that we are going to put restaurants, or a kids zone, or a bar, or some cool things to make it an even better fan experience,” Ishbia said.

Employees will have access to a multitude of amenities, including two basketball half-courts — one indoor and one outdoor — a pickleball court, a fitness center, a golf simulator room, an outdoor putting green, and classic arcade games like Pac-Man and NBA Jam.

A large portion of the facility is dedicated to desk space, with hundreds of computers filling out the area, and meeting rooms lining the outside of the space.

Employees will begin work in the new facility on Monday.
