Unofficial results show at least two out of four races for Phoenix City Council will continue next year because no single candidate received at least 50% plus one vote. The city will hold a runoff election on March 14, 2023.

Council District 6 had the highest voter turnout at nearly 42% and the highest number of candidates at eight. As of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the top two vote getters were Kevin Robinson and Joan Greene. They are expected to face off in March. So will the top candidates in District 8, Carlos Garcia and Kesha Hodge Washington. In District 2, Jim Waring led with 49% of the vote and Heli Nielson had 35%.

The only decided race was District 4, where incumbent Laura Pastor ran unopposed.
