During her 20-plus years reporting in Phoenix, Estes has worked for a variety of news outlets and covered presidential campaigns, state and local politics, education and business.

Estes's debut mystery, "Off the Air," was published in 2024. The first in a series featuring a Phoenix reporter, "Off the Air" has earned national recognition, including as a "Good Morning America" Buzz Pick.
