Arizona Rep. Debbie Lesko says this mail-in ballot change would speed up counting

Arizona Republican Congresswoman Debbie Lesko wants to change the drop-off process for mail-in ballots.
Instead of dropping ballots into a box on Election Day, she’s suggesting voters have their signatures verified on the spot.
“Arizona, if its close races, that always takes a long time. That way, all those votes would be counted on election night," she said.
Lesko, who won her seat unopposed in the 8th Congressional District this midterm election, wants voters to show their ID at the polls, remove their ballot from the envelope and put it through the voting machine.
While some are calling out the amount of time it takes to call a race, according to Maricopa County, it has taken an average of 10 to 12 days to publish final election results.
