Some areas have seen rain around the Valley — but one place hasn’t gotten a single drop in months. Sky Harbor International Airport, where the National Weather Service in Phoenix has a rainfall gauge, is approaching a record in dryness.

Jessica Lessel is a meteorologist with NWS.

“So the next longest streak that we’re approaching is going to be second and third place; both 143 days. So we are very close to surpassing that. And then in first place is 160 days," Lessel said.

If Sky Harbor remains dry for less than a week more, it will hit 143 consecutive days.
