A judge has thwarted the efforts of Arizona’s Democratic Party to keep the No Labels party and its candidates off the 2024 ballot — for now.

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge threw out the Democrats’ lawsuit against the No Labels party, saying the complaints of faulty paperwork didn’t hold up to scrutiny.

But it may not be over yet. Democrats have the chance to refile the case in the next month based on new allegations that weren't in the original lawsuit.

Those include the No Labels party allegedly misleading voters into thinking it would participate in the primary. The No Labels party has been scrutinized for being secretive with its financing. It now argues that if it doesn’t participate in the primary it doesn’t need to file a campaign finance report or follow other primary election laws.
