On Tuesday, former Gov. Doug Ducey weighed in on the multiple criminal cases in play against former President Donald Trump.

"We're in the middle of an election cycle. I prefer this would all be decided by the people. I'm concerned about the weaponization of the Department of Justice. And now we'll see the process play out." Ducey said.

His concern applies to all prosecutors, whether that is at local or federal levels. This week, Trump and 18 allies were indicted in Fulton County, Georgia, over their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state.

That indictment includes allegations Trump had called on Arizona lawmakers to appoint electors who would vote for him despite losing the state to Joe Biden. When asked about the legality of doing so, Ducey said, "Well, that will now be left up to the juries."

Attorney General Kris Mayes has confirmed she is investigating whether any laws were broken by those so-called fake electors.
